Play board games with your friends, read a good book, or listen to music as they do have live bands performing every weekend. Check out Y Café ‘s Facebook page for the lineup.
This wasn’t my first time here as we had our lunch once since it’s only couple of blocks away from the office. This time, I was invited for the ‘Foodie Night Out’ of Y Café.
I am really digging the ambiance of Y Café. It has lots of Japanese characters in it which some of us can relate to. It was so nostalgic 😀 .
Here’s my take on the food that was served during the night:
Spicy Aglio Olio Bacon Pasta (Php280) – this pasta has some bacon bits and chili flakes, so it is expected to be tangy, but you don’t need to worry as I find it a little tame. I really liked that the pasta was firm.
Chicken and Mushroom Pasta (Php320) – this creamy pasta has some shiitake mushrooms along with white wine. There’s grilled chicken breast, bacon, and some Parmesan cheese.
The Y Cheeseburger (Php360) – that’s 200g pure beef patty. There’s some sautéed mushrooms, mozzarella cheese, onion rings, bacon, pickles, tomato and lettuce, too. The patty was too salty, though.
Pork Chops ala Pobre (Php300) – Pork chops were well marinated. I love that the onions were fried to crisp than the usual sauteed. It also comes with rice. I just wish that the pork would be more tender next time.
Louisiana Chicken Crunch – this chicken wings were fried perfectly. It is tender and well seasoned. I enjoyed it most when dip with the ranch.
Spicy Shrimp and Sausage – Hungarian Sausage, Shrimp, Corn on the cob with some tomato Chipotle sauce. It also has some garlic bits and cilantro. I find the shrimp to be a little overcooked or it probably stood there for some time but still, it tasted good.
It was a fun event as I was able to see and bond with my fellow foodie friends. We had a great time and enjoyed some of the food. I highly recommend you try their unlimited Wine or Cocktails. For only Php350 from 6PM to 10PM, enjoy the Rhum Cola or Mojito available on Mondays and Wednesdays. And on Tuesday and Thursday, at Php499 for that’s unlimited Wine.
