Watami is my go-to restaurant when I’m craving for some sushi. They offer affordable and a variety of Sushi, Maki and Aburi. I also like their Yakitori and Udon. This would be my third time dining in Watami and I am as excited as they have new dishes that just come out.
This one located in Uptown Mall in BGC, is spacious enough as there’s alfresco area, too. It’s placed along with The Bistro Groups’ other restaurants such as Denny’s, Texas RoadHouse, Buffalo Wild Wings and more.
I must say that the place was really gorgeous. With all the Japanese accent to it, some Sake on display, wooden walls and some Japanese lamps. It also has a dim light which sets the mood for a bit of romance.
Here’s what’s new on their menu:
Nori Nachos (Php225) – these crispy sheets of Nori dipped on Japanese batter were really addicting. I can’t stop eating this. Perfect appetizer. It is topped with some Bonito Flakes, drizzled Japanese Mayo. It’s really good!
Cucumber Kani Salad (Php250) – Fresh thinly cut cucumber with Mango, Crab Sticks and Nori. This refreshing salad is definitely a starter. I love cucumber and add some Mangoes with it? Perfect combination.
Chasoba Salad (Php295) – cold noodles with some strips of ham, vegetables and Nori. There’s Japanese Mayo added as well for more flavor to this refreshing salad. Another refreshing salad it is.
There’s these new flavored Aburi (torched) added to the menu as well.
Salmon Tako Maki Aburi (Php325) – Isn’t the presentation lovely? The taste is the same. The fresh Salmon were torched perfectly. That’s Salmon and Japanese Rice on a bed of crispy Nori. The flavors really, just burst in your mouth.
Tuna Tako Maki (Php325) – That’s cubes of Tuna with Japanese rice on a bed of crispy Nori. The Tuna was already tossed in some sauces which made it really creamy in taste.
Kani Udon – it’s like Japanese version of Mac and Cheese. That thick Udon with creamy and cheesy sauce. It’s really good. This is great to have when you have kids around. I am sure they would love it.
Grilled Salmon Set – This set meal will really fill up your tummy. It has a salad on the side, soup and Rice. Salmon was grilled perfectly. That sweet and savory glazed was so delightful. The Sesame Seeds added aroma, too. It has some corns on the sides with tomatoes and beans, too.
Salmon Stone Pot (Php325) – You have to mix everything up to evenly distribute its flavors. That’s Salmon cubes, Salmon Roes, Egg, Nori Strips and some vegetables. This is definitely one bowl of goodness.
I really enjoyed all these new dishes. All the flavors were on point and would definitely order again when I get back. Have you tried any of these dishes?
