I was amazed to know that all the people here in The Singing Cooks and Waiters sing. From the cooks, to the waiters and even the managers. As what their website says “The Singing Cooks & Waiters is the First… the Original… and the Only Musical Restaurant of its Kind in the World.” You’d definitely enjoy it here if you’re up for some entertainment.
This place might look a bit old and has some wear and tear but is still a comfortable place to dine in. It actually added accent to this well established restaurant.
Seafood Bouillabaisse (Php650) – French inspired seafood. Creamy and delectable. This was by far the best dish that I tried here. t was creamy and loaded with huge Seafood.
Beef Kare Kare (Php580) – Beef, oxtail and tripe in a delightful peanut ggravy. Served in a hot clay pot with blanched vegetables.
Beef were really tender while the vegetables were still has its crisp. I love the right amount of peanut and how thick the sauce was. Definitely one of the strongest dishes here, too.
Lechon Manok Tinupig (Php595) – Whole Chicken cooked in coconut milk and spices wrapped in banana leaves then speared and grilled over the coals until tender.
The smoky flavor of the chicken were aromatic. Definitely perfect for Atsara.
Seafood sa Gata Special – Luto sa Buho (Php850) – Catfish, Crab,Shrimp, Escargot, mussels, clams, and river spinach in a savory coconut sauce reduction, grilled over liver coals and served in a bamboo branch.
It has some sweetness in it yet a bit spicy kick in this thick and creamy sauce. That’s how you can tell that the seafood were fresh.
Pinakbet Medley Halo-Halo (Php650) – With Pork, Shrimp, and Crispy-fried Catfish
Black Squid Rice (Php795) – This serving is already good for 4-5 persons. This has squid ink with some peas, carrots and squid, too. Topped with sliced boiled egg. It’s like their version of Paella Negra that’s flavorful and full of Seafood and Meat. This alone is already filling!
Crispy Pata (Php760) – A deep-fried pork delicacy that is famous all over the Philippines.. Did you know that Mr. Rodolfo Ongpauco is the creator of Crispy Pata? and their version is definitely one for the books
For desserts, we had:
Sorbetes at Turon (Php150) – Fried banana, ube, jackfruit rolls, with 2 scoops of ice cream.
Suman sa Latik at Manga.({Php250) – Warm sticky rice cake and slices of sweet mangoes served with caramel coconut sauce.
I think this restaurant is perfect place to spend a celebration since there’s entertainment that’s already included. Food is definitely amazing. I just hope that they make an improvement on the Iced Tea and the desserts.
