Southbank Cafe + Lounge: your newest Australian inspired cafe in Alabang
Southbank Cafe + Lounge could be your newest rendezvous in Westgate, Alabang. They offer Melbourne inspired dishes and have great selections of food may it be for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
Its matte black facade is so aesthetically appealing to me as I am a person who loves this color. This restaurant can be seen at the back of Neil’s Kitchen. The coffee table placed on the right side signifies a relaxing vibe that awaits.
When I walked in, the staff warmly greeted me along with the bar area and its comfortable velvet green chairs. There are lots of alcoholic drinks on the shelf which might overwhelm or confuse you on which one to get.
Hues of black and gold from railings to chandeliers. It has a warm yellow light for a more comforting atmosphere.
I love the reflection of the sunlight kissing its glass window. It’s just so natural. Imagine having this while sipping your cup of coffee.
Mocha (Php190) – creamy yet the strong flavor of coffee will awaken even your sleepy soul. 😀
Iced Coffee (Php190) – Love the strong coffee kick and that scoop of vanilla ice cream on top for a creamy ending. I adore that they use a compostable straw, too. Good for mother nature.
The biodegradable straw, by the way, is made from corn starch which decomposes after a few months or so.
Also, they ship Allpress Espresso beans straight from Australia. So, you’re sure that your mug is filled with one delicious coffee.
Ricotta Salad (Php390) – for that healthy eater in you, this has whipped ricotta. fresh arugula, cherry tomatoes with candied walnuts in there, too with pesto dressing.
Croquettes (Php350) – That’s potato and cheese deep-fried to perfection. It also has sous-vide eggs. Dip in the tomato sauce and you get one delectable appetizer.
Brioche French Toast (Php370) – Brioche Toast, Whipped Ricota, Maple Syrup, Housemade Butter
I love that thick toast with creamy butter-cheese on top. It was so good! It was well presented and I can’t tell you how many minutes I just stared at its beauty.
Southbank Pancakes (Php390) – mixed berried, maple syrup, honeycomb, house-made seasonal sorbet
The fluffy pancakes have some strawberry jelly on top as well as some walnuts and confectioners sugar. Another pretty little thing. The presentation is by far the best of all the pancakes there is. Don’t you agree? Its taste is amazing, too.
Flat Bread (Php290) – pesto, mozzarella, ricotta, lemon, crispy tortilla
Southbank Burger (Php580) – brioche bun, 100% Beef Patty, bacon jam, lettuce, tomato, truffle mayo served with curly fries
That’s 100% pure thick beef patty. I could say one of the best burgers in town. Hands down! I love the savory and smoky flavor of the beef with some sweetness of the bacon jam. It’s just addicting.
Bone Marrow (Php550) – char-boiled bone marrow, truffle breadcrumbs, bacon jam, parsley salsa, crostini
Gnocchi Doki (Php380) – potato dumplings, pesto cream, parmigiana
Squid Ink Pasta (Php450) – squid ink capellini, squid, capers, parmigiana
The pasta has a bite back in it which was good as it was al dente. It has some spiciness and citrus flavors in there, too.
Salmon Aburi Bowl (Php620) – torched salmon, furikake, tobiko, multi-grain rice, sweet soy, dojunbang mayo
36 Hour Belly Bowl (Php420) – pork belly, viet pickles, multi-grain rice, fried egg, sriracha glaze
There are 2 flavors to choose from for the rice lovers people:
Hickory BBQ Pork Belly Bowl
Sriracha Pork Belly Bowl
Tiger Prawn Risotto (Php580) – tiger prawn thermidor, mushroom, sundried tomato, parmigiano
Another favorite that I truly enjoyed. It was mushy yet has a bite in it.
For alcoholic drinks, here are some you may try.
Fish Eye (Php380)
