SM City Molino: On safety dining experience and adapting with the new normal

The government recently lifted the Enhanced Community Quarantine, people are now experiencing the ‘new normal.’ It might be worrisome to others as there are a lot of adjustments that need to take into consideration.  Wearing a mask, sanitizing every time, and practicing social distancing are just a few things that are now common gestures. This is to avoid the transmission of the virus. But are we really safe going out? Especially going into the malls that we miss?

It’s a good thing that SM Supermalls now provides a ‘safe and smart‘ malling experience to ensure its customers, employees, and clients’ safety.

SM Supermalls spearheaded the new way of malling experience with 3 features that will make its customers conveniently shop and dine.  With my recent visit to SM City Molino, I was able to experience these features which helped me feel at ease going in and around the mall.

It’s my first time to go out after the ECQ and I could say that it wasn’t that bad. Upon entrance, you can see all the guards wearing masks and face shields, and they are quick to get your temperature before coming in. If one’s temperature exceeds 37.7 degrees Celcius, they will be prohibited upon entrance.

There are disinfectant mats, hand sanitizers, also, social distancing markers are everywhere to help remind people to keep at least a meter apart.

Dine-in experience:

If you’re like me who loves to go out and eat, I know that itchy feet feeling of wanting to visit your favorite restaurants. Now, at least we need not worry because SM and its partner tenants are more than ready to take new diners and serve them with utmost care and hospitality.

I really am craving for some good and quality Lumpiang Shanghai and Pancit for months and I know Classic Savory is a perfect fit to satisfy it. This is where I usually go to when I am looking for some delicious, within the budget Chinese dishes.

Through its doors, there’s a thermal scanner and a health check form that you will have to fill in. This is to ensure its customers are in good health.  Also, there are a limited number of customers allowed per hour. Making way for the right spaces and social distancing.

Seats have X marks as a reminder not to be taken. So, the usual 4 persons per table would now only be good for 3.

It’s great that the attendants were all wearing safety gloves, face shields, and face masks at all times. We were served with the Corn and Crab soup as starters.

Then there’s my favorite Miki Bihon Binondo. That’s thick egg noodles, vermicelli with a generous amount of vegetables, meat, and seafood. It was really good. It has the right amount of saltiness to it. One of the best Pancit, for me.

Followed with the plate of Fried Chicken, Rice, and crispy, savory, filling Lumpiang Shanghai.  It was drizzled with some sweet chili sauce on top for that quick bite. I miss this combo!

After our meal, the friendly staff thanked us for dining, and the table was immediately sanitized as they prepare for other customers.

==============================

In the event that your favorite restaurants ran out of seats, there’s a designated dining space where customers can still enjoy their food inside the mall.

Here, you may enjoy your ordered food with a cute, furry, and fun companion.

SM City Molino wanted its customers to feel welcome in a fun way by incorporating teddy bears and emoji balloons on seats that would mean not to be taken. This is their way of politely asking that the seats are for social distancing purposes. Plus, this gives a cheerful feeling of having someone while munching on your favorite food.

Is it safe to dine-in at SM City Molino?

In my experience, dining in at SM City Molino is indeed safe.  What I liked about it was that I felt secure as all the staff was well trained. They are all aware of the protocols mandated by the LGU. I am looking forward to coming back and visiting other restaurants here at SM and begin creating memories once again with family and friends shared with amazing food.
