Red Ginger offers a taste of our neighboring countries’ delectable cuisines. They’re a trendy Southeast Asian inspirited Bistro and Bar located in City of Dreams.
They sampled us with their VIP Lunch Menu which includes signature dishes from Thailand, India, Malaysia, and Vietnam.
This set is perfect for family. Here’s what they served us:
Popiah – This spring roll of goodness has crispy fried barbecue duck inside. It was really tasty and the pulled duck was well flavored. The best way to eat this is to wrap in lettuce and dip in chili garlic sauce.
Vietnamese Caesar Salad – Fresh Romaine Lettuce with garlic croutons, parmesan cheese, and soft poached egg. A healthy start of a meal.
Satay Platter – Meat lovers will be delighted with this platter. It has coriander-spiced Beef Satay, coconut-glazed pork satay, prawn and salmon satay and chicken satay. But not all meat in here as there’s tofu satay too. All the meats were marinated so well and grilled to tender. There’s different sauces available too but my favorite would be the peanut sauce.
Nasi Lemak Lobster – Sambal Lobster with crispy anchovy, hard-boiled egg, sliced cucumber and peanuts. My favorite dish here. I love the chewiness of the lobster and I thought it was done right. This has a kick of spiciness too. The rice on the side was cooked with coconut milk that added fragrance to this beautiful plate of a dish.
Lamb Biryari –Spiced Basmati Rice with chewy and savory Lamb. Totally has an aromatic curry flavor. Add a little of pineapple chutney for additional sweetness. This also comes with Papadam which can be crushed and topped on your rice for crispier feel.
Charcoal Grill – A plate of Lemongrass and Rosemary chicken, spiced 200g Blue Marlin Fillet with Assam Butter, Honey and Tamarind Glazed Pork Belly. All three has their own distinct taste but what stood out the most to me was the Tamarind Glazed Pork Belly. It was great but I think they need to add more tamarind flavor to it to be more authentic.
Char Kway Teow – This is one of my favorite noodles from Singapore. Theirs has generous amount of ingredients like air-dried Lup Cheong sausage, bean sprout, fish cake, and sambal belachan. This would have been perfect but I just find the noodles overcooked.
Then there’s Dessert Platter. Filipino inspired desserts such as:
Pandan Coconut Crepe Roll
Iced Avocado Condensada
Mango Sticky Rice
We also got to try their award-winning dessert ‘The Egg.’ It’s actually made of mango and custard. The Mango sauce on topped looked like that of an egg yolk. It has Dark Chocolate sprinkles on top which added crunchiness to it.
If you’re craving for some Asian food, this is a perfect place as you will definitely go home satisfied. Also, they’re open 24/7 so you can conveniently have a taste of their food anytime of the day.
