PAUL Boulangerie is a French chain of Bakery/Café restaurants established in 1889 in the city of Croix, in Northern France, by Charlemagne Mayot.
This branch in SM Megamall recently launched their degustation menu that will make their customers have a little of everything in one order. Perfect if you’re like me, who wanted little bit of everything but plenty options. Please note that their menu is totally different from other branches.
PAUL might seem to be sophisticated but I tell you that they look all posh but the price is truly affordable.
Being famous for their pastries and sandwiches, this is the first thing that you’ll see on the counter. I can attest that the pastries we’ve tried were soft, fluffy and delicious. I loved that it’s not that sweet at all.
For as low as Php200, you’d get to have a decent and delicious meals.
With its location being at the entrance of the mall, there’s no reason for you to just pass by this area. Have a taste of their Executive Degustation – Beef Bourguignon, Salad Crevettes, Flan nature.
Shrimp and Mango Salad – Freshly grilled prawns, mesclun salad in apple cider vinaigrette dressing, carrots, mangoes, cucumbers and cherry tomatoes.
Beef Bourguignon – Slow-cooked braised beef in red wine sauce
The beef was fork-tender and the sauce has a thick consistency. It was really such flavorful dish.
Flan Nature – sweet and filling custard flan
Croissant Egg Mayo – this is appetizingly good. There’s fries and salad on the sides as well making this a total hearty meal.
Croissant Sardine – I really appreciates that the sardines does not have fishy smell.
Now, a must have at PAUL’s are their open-faced sandwiches which they have to put on the menu to make them in sync with other Paul branches.
Tartine Sisig – Sisig was crunchy and savory. It has a bit of spiciness in it all the more that you’d want to have bite at once. Totally addicting.
Light Degustation – Caesar Salad, Soup of the day, Dessert of the Day and Crepe Meat Lasagna
(Soup of the Day: Seafood Chowder)
Dessert of the Day (Flan Normand)
This is named Light Degustation but to me, this is already one super full meal. It was such a bang for your buck. The Crepe Lasagna was a shock to me as I though it was really pasta in first bite. It was meaty, too. This is what I would recommend if you wanted to have something that is meaty, at the same time, just light in belly.
Duo Fish Rolade – the tender salmon was delectable.
We’ve also tried some of the pastries and cakes and I swear, everything was really good! So, please do yourselves a favor and save a room for dessert.
Crepe Mango Salted Caramel
Paris Brest Eclair
Red Dome Cheese Cake
Pair your pastries or cakes with the famous Paul Hot Chocolate.
If you prefer Iced and whipped.
Also, avail their products perfect as gifts this holiday season. There’s a tumbler, mug, Advent calendar, and more.
I definitely will be coming back to try more pastries and other dishes.
