Papa Kim’s Korean Bakery & Coffee – more than just a bakeshop

I received an email invite from Papa Kim’s Korean Bakery & Coffee.   As you know, I am so into Korean food so I was really glad that I’d be able to try what they offer.  They not just offer pastries and breads, they also have Pasta, Sandwiches, Rice Bowls and more.

Papa Kim’s Korean Bakery & Coffee has three branches, the first one in Antipolo, where they freshly bake all their breads and cakes, and the other one’s in Tomas Morato.  I went here to their Banawe branch instead.

It’s a two-storey building that can accommodate at least 50 to 60 guests.  They’re also open for functions and events.

I really like the cherry blossoms tree paintings on their walls.  It added a Korean vibe to the place.  I just wish that they’d add more Korean novelties or items to make it realistic.

It was raining when I went here so it’s a perfect timing to have my  cup of coffee.  I had Medium Hot Caramel Macchiato (Php140)

I must say that it was really good.  It’s surprising as this was way better that that from the famous coffee shop and is inexpensive. It was creamy yet strong and I love that it was well balanced. I paired it with the Sausage Pastry (Php60) which tasted a little sweet yet savory. I can tell it was freshly baked, too.

We also tried:

Creamy Shrimp Pesto Pasta (Php275) – I find it a  little bit oily and the pasta was a bit overcooked. The pesto sauce and the shrimp were generously added though.

Chicken Bulgogi Rice Bowl (Php180) – The chicken was done right.  It was tender and still juicy.  It was sauteed in barbecue sauce and I think it has sugar to have that caramelized texture.  Really tasty!

Korean Spicy Chicken (Php180) – It was a spicy but tolerable.  I love the sweet and spicy flavors of this dish.  The bean sprouts and carrots added flavors as well.

Their Rice Bowls includes Iced Tea as well.

We got to take home some Fresh Cream Bread, Angel Bread, Strawberry Mammoth, Mammoth Bread, Bear Breads in different flavors and Cream Puff to surprise my little darling.

We ended our meal with a Large Crazy Oreo Bingsu (Php200) and it was really creamy and delicious.

Next time you’re in the area, give Papa Kim’s Korean Bakery & Coffee a try.  It’s so worth it.  Also, you get to take home a cute Bear Pillow if you buy 2 dozen of their Bear Breads.  And they offer breads at 50% off at 8PM, too.
