Ooma: five newest dishes added to the menu

Ooma is a  modern Japanese restaurant that’s best known for their Sushi, Maki and the like.

This is my first time in Ooma but I promise this would not be the last because they have the best food! Can you imagine there are 2 branches near the office (Makati) and I was not able to visit any? Oh well, at least now I know and it’s not too late, right?

Located in Bonifacio High Street, this branch of Ooma can be found just beside Starbucks.
As I entered, I find the place well lit, it was squeaky clean, and has that pleasant aromatic smell.  Probably because of the open kitchen which also serves as an entertainment while waiting for the food.

It has a Japanese vibe such as the music, accents, even the tables and chairs in wooden palettes are so Japanese.

During our visit, we tried 5 new dishes.

Crispy Tako Maki
– fried baby octopus, Tamago, gari, katsuobushi, bulldog aioli, and soy dashi glaze

Salmon Skin Aburi Maki
– torched salmon, crispy salmon skin, asparagus, cream cheese, wasabi aioli, and teriyaki sauce

Garlic Steak
– sous-vide hanging tender, fried oyster mushrooms, cauliflower purée, crispy garlic, sautéed kailan, teppanyaki sauce

Cheese Katsu Curry Din
– pork sukiyaki and mozzarella, fried carrots, fried eggplant, house curry

Mochi and Matcha Cheesecake
– sesame cashew crust, toasted rice, mochi

All these new dishes are worth the calories and I must say that Ooma is another Japanese restaurant that I’d be adding to my favorite lists.
