Lowcal Cafe: low calorie coffee and tea freshly sourced from our local farmers
Lowcal Cafe or Lo(w)cal is a cafe and restaurant founded by young entrepreneurs with expertise in Science, Food, Business and Arts. They uses 100% Arabica beans from Benguet care of Green Habit‘s as this is part of their advocacy to support local farmers. This cafe is located inside The Naturale Market which sells goods sourced all over the country.
This also serves as a showroom where you can purchase the seats, tables, utensils, rattan chandeliers and other goods.
Both have an advocacy of reducing waste and promoting ethical and responsible consumption.
This cafe is entirely vegan and food and drinks has strictly low calorie. For starters, they uses almond and soy milk for their whipped cream. They also adds some activated charcoal for healthier purposes. Their sugar is also made from coconut which can be easily digested in our bodies.
Coco Caramel – This has the right amount of sweetness to it. I liked that the coffee flavor was still strong.
Coffee Jelly – The coffee jelly has a strong coffee flavor but was not acidic.
Dark Mocha – It has the right amount of chocolate and coffee.
I so love the idea of that they did with the milk boxes and made it as a take away box. But most importantly, the sugar cups and lids are all compostable and is made from sugar cane.
