If there’s one thing that I liked during the lockdown period, it’s the time we spent on the dining table bonding over good food. It’s true that food tastes better when shared with family. I now work from home and most of the time, I don’t have the luxury to cook so we opt to order online. It’s such a life saver for this mom of two.
I am glad that I discovered Heavenly Spiced that offers comfort food and back-to-basics with their family size food trays that you can order to share with family and/or friends.
Heavenly Spiced is owned and managed by Chef Edmond Dannug and his fiancé Jasmine Guillarte. Chef Edmond was a former Chef in a Michelin starred Amber restaurant in Hong Kong and Head Chef of Enderun Events in Davao. With that credentials, you already know what you’d get- DELICIOUS FOOD!
But instead of offering sophisticated food, he opted to go back to basic and serve comfort food such as:
Chicken Wings (Php900) – inspired by Frankie’s, these large, plump chicken wings in cayenne sauce will make you have more than what you can. It has that spicy, sweet, and savory flavor that I’m sure you’ll love. Dip it in bleu cheese for one satisfying explosion of flavors.
Bourbon Glazed Barbecue Pork Ribs (Php1400) – fall-off-the-bone meat with bourbon sauce. I am in-love with its bourbon sauce already. This comes with Umami corn cobs for that perfect combo.
Hainanese Chicken and Rice (Php850) – I am not a fan of Hainanese Chicken probably because I’ve tasted some that have taken me aback, but this creation of Chef Edmond, converted me. If all Hainanese Chicken is cooked this way, I’m all in.
The meat was cooked soft and this comes with Bokchoy on the side. It has three sauces: ground ginger paste, dark soy, and red chili. Let me just say that the chicken garlic rice is a winner, too!
Angus Burger (Php1500) – 6 quarter pound burgers covered in wax paper with some umami fries. That’s one loaded tray! These patties are made with Angus beef, seasoned it with just salt and pepper but it was one of the best burgers in town, in my opinion. The bourbon BBQ glazed sauce made a huge difference along with its brioche buns, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, battered onion rings. It was just soooo good!
See, I had to pose with it? 😀
