Firefly Roofdeck: chill in this relaxing spot in Makati for a tex-mex dishes

sisig

I got to visit Firefly Roofdeck’s restaurant/bar on the 32nd floor of City Garden Grand Hotel. They offer Filipino and Spanish dishes available in ala carte as well as a buffet. It has a spectacular view of Makati’s busiest street, Poblacion.

They initially served us a glass of thirst quencher, Iced Tea. It has fresh slices of orange topped with a cherry.

Here’s the list of what we tried:

Gambas Al Ajillo (Php 575) – These Tiger Prawns were sautéed in peppers, garlic and chilies tossed in hot sauce. All the flavors were absorbed by the perfectly cooked prawns. It was a bit spicy too.

Chicken Fingers (Php 295) – this chicken breast was thinly chopped and fried to a golden brown. I love the tenderness of this chicken. This has honey mustard as dip for additional flavor.

Calamari Fritto (Php 375) – Squid Rings fried to perfection served with tartar sauce. It was so crunchy and chewy too. Chewy in a good way as the quid were perfectly fried.

Mejillones Gratinados (Php 445) – Imported mussels that were drenched in garlic butter topped and baked in creamy cheese. Believe me when they say it’s creamy because it really is! This is by far the best Baked Mussels I’ve tried.

Lemongrass Chicken (Php 180) – Fried Lemongrass skewered ground Chicken and Crab with cilantro chili sauce. I needed that sauce to love this dish as I find this has a bit sourly taste to it. But the combination of crab meat and ground chicken was so good.

Lechon Sisig Overload (Php350) – Sisig with chilies, onions, and quail egg, seasoned Firefly style. Perfect as bar chow or even viand. It wasn’t crispy but I find it very well seasoned and one of the best there is.

Supremo Pizza (Php 395) – I so love this pizza as it was loaded with lots of meat and vegetables. It has Pomodoro sauce, Mozzarella Cheese, Peppers, Onions, Olives, Ground Beef, Chicken Sausage, Ham and Bacon. The dough was thin crust too.

Spanish Paella (Php 450) – Another dish loaded with seafood, chicken, chorizo, peppers, olives, topped with some lemon. The rice was delicious and cooked perfectly. It was soft and all the flavors were bursting in your mouth.

Salpicao Ala Diablo (Php 375) – The sauce was really tasty. It’s the most scrumptious Salpicao I’ve tasted.  Just make sure to eat this while still hot to avoid it being rubbery.

Frutti Di Mare Pasta (Php 295) – Also in Pomodoro sauce, loaded with so much seafood. I love that the pasta were still al dente even after minutes of waiting. This is something that I’d order here again and what I recommend. This comes with Garlic bread.

We were also got to taste ‘Elena.’ This cocktail won in a recent competition held in this location wherein different schools and universities competed in cocktail mixing. So, for this cocktail it has Rum, Sprite, Triple Sec, Calamansi Juice.  It was just light. A bit sweet too because of Spite.

With a stunning city view, scrumptious food, and friendly staff, this place serves a relaxing hangout. Why be stuck in traffic if you can sit down and relax with a glass of cocktail on hand?
