Pork lovers, unite! This is the ultimate venue for us to satisfy all that greasy cravings. As you know, I love pork and anything you do with it and Empacho is my new favorite restaurant as they offer really well-cooked pork dishes to my liking. They not just offer Pork, they have Chicken, Fish, Seafood and more. We were able to try their impeccable dishes.
Spicy Tamarind Wing – Flavorful pieces of Chicken wings. Do not be afraid of the small tidbits of chili flakes as this isn’t really spicy. Each wing coated with a tamarind sauce. Can I just borrow that tagline “Sarap to the bones.”
Crispy Tokwa’t Baboy – Tofu at the bottom kinda made this dish healthy, well, a bit! Chicharon Bagnet fried to a crisp so as the Tofu. Its sauce tasted a bit sweet and I agree that is special.
Crispy Sisig– Another bar chow. It’s crispy and delicious. This is a perfect pair with a bottle of cold beer.
Soft Shell Crab Aligue Pasta – Make sure to have a crab-meat when you take a bite to at least lessen its sour taste.
Soft Shell Crab Aligue Pasta 420phpSeafood Tinola – Its soup was a bit sweet. As what I’ve said, its taste is familiar but I was still amazed as there was no fishy taste to this dish. Good job!
Crispy Pork Kare Kare – My personal pick. The best Kare Kare here in Manila. One my mom can envy and not boast that hers was more delicious.
Lechon Belly – Thick slab of pork cooked to tender. The shiny brown surface was so crispy and so delightful. Dip that in Sinamak to remove the umay factor because really, you will be wanting more of this.
Empachos Lechon Belly 790phpSinigang na Lechon with Strawberry – I can’t stop sipping on the soup. The soup alone and Strawberry made me addicted to this dish already and add the Lechon? Winner!
Pair your favorite viand with their Rice. They have three options to choose from.
Pistachio Sans Rival – I am in love with this. Soft and chewy.
Salted Egg Lava Cake – Sinful.
Kamias Cheese Cake – I am amazed that it was not that sour of a Kamias. The sourness is just right.
Empacho is located on the busy street of Timog. They also have gigs and poetry session every weekend. Can’t wait to be here one weekend with the gang. Ambiance, staff, and food are the best here!
