There are lots of restaurants that closed out due to the pandemic but with Dampa Express, it’s a different case. With over 30 branches and more on its pipeline, there’s more to this restaurant than seafood. They are indeed getting bigger and better in the new normal. “It turned out that Seafood is pandemic proof.” says the owner Simon Lim, Jr.
What I adore about Dampa Express, aside from their delectable seafood, is their ability to give back to its community. They wanted to help out people and so, they sourced their Bilao’s and Itlog na Pula directly from Pampanga – thousands of them! There are no powdered salted eggs here. The owner still buys all his vegetables from the vegetable vendor peddling on the street. “He used to go about pushing a cart then when he started supplying all Dampa Express branches, he was able to buy a Pedicab and now, he’s driving a car.”
I’ve visited this branch in Sta. Lucia. They do not promote fancy and posh restaurant style but all comfortable that people from all walks of life will feel welcome. Currently, some of the rooms are closed but when they can, there’s enclosed videoke rooms perfect for small gatherings such as birthdays and baptismal.
Dampa Express Seafood Paluto & Grill brings you traditional dampa recipes at affordable prices. Mura, mabilis at masarap. Ang PAMBANSANG SEAFOOD FOR ALL! as what their Facebook page will tell you.
That pretty much sums up all the things that we experience during our visit. They have the freshest seafood, scrumptious dishes, and accommodating staff, too.
When it comes to food, they serve one of the best yet affordable in the market. Imagine, no more wasted time going to the market. Just place your order and it will come to your table immediately.
The Grilled Tuna Pangatasted good. It was grilled perfectly- soft yet chewy.
The Halaan Soup is perfect for lactating women (like me!), so they say, as it helps boosts your milk supply.
I love its taste for it has strong flavors of the sea. They sometimes give this away for free if your bill reached Php2,500 up.
If you’re craving some vegetables, they also have Chopsuey. It has some shrimp and has crisp vegetables, too.
If you’d ask me, I highly suggest you order Adobong Pusit. These baby squids were sauteed in its ink and has chewy meat. It tasted so good. It was a great dish here in Dampa Express. Also, don’t forget the Baked Oyster. Now, these have some generous amounts of cheese topped with some crispy garlic. I can’t count how many I had.
The deep-fried crabs and shrimp in salted egg were sooo good! It was tossed in some green and red bell peppers for additional aroma and flavor. You can really tell a difference between a real one vs. the powdered.
No wonder, the Seafood Bilao is their best seller. There were huge crabs and shrimps that’s been sauteed in butter and garlic. PERFECT!
To think that this is only 1,100 pesos, good for 5-6 persons! Now, that’s a steal already. Don’t you think?
And what way to enjoy these dishes is in the comfort of our home. You may order today at your nearest branch.
