Borough offers new dishes as lunch specials
Borough is New York inspired restaurant located in Bonifacio High Street. It’s been in the restaurant industry since 2010. I first heard of them because of their famous Grilled Cheese but now, they’re adding more to the list of favorites as they just released their Lunch Specials which will be available from 11am – 5pm daily.
Butterscotch Fried Chicken and Waffles – I am in-love with their waffle and the smell and flavor of butterscotch. It was buttery, soft yet crisp on its sides. I just find the chicken a tad salty.
Chorizo and Eggs – The egg cooked scrambled along with bits of Chorizo which made the flavors well distributed. I am not really a fan of beans, but the Chorizo and Egg, I would choose over breakfast.
Apple Cranberry Stuffed Porkchops – This comes with veggies and mashed potato. Tender porkchops filled with dried cranberry. It was not too sweet as what I expected. It has the right amount of saltiness and sweetness to it.
Beef Strips and Rice – The beef was succulent, savory, and a little sweet. Love the combination of shredded Green Mango as sides.
Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup – This is their best seller and I need not ask why. It was really good. The mozzarella and cheddar cheese were generously placed inside the brioche. I also liked the acidity of the tomato soup. Perfect combo!
Old Fashioned Chocolate Layer Cake – Layers of chocolate ganache and chocolate cake. I can’t help but look for some coffee as it would be perfect match.
Snuffaluffa Nutter Pie – Its name might confuse you but really its just layers of Nutella, Banana, and Peanut Butter topped with some Caramel popcorn. It was really good.
Mexican Chocolate Pudding Pie – That’s thick chocolate mousse has chipotle sauce that’s why there’s a kick just after you finished one bite. This is really good and would probably be enough for 2-3 persons.
Fudge Brownie – I love brownies and theirs did not disappoint. It has crisp surface yet gooey and chocolatey inside.
They have amazing selections of cakes so as coffee. Some they’ll be releasing soon.
Manhattan Special – this coffee has been on their menu for quite some time now. That’s combination of espresso and Soda water great during summer.
Minty Manhattan – espresso, soda water and mint leave
Mazagran – espresso, lemon syrup, mint and lemon
Brain Fuel – combination of butter, olive oil and coffee
Vietnamese Latte – creamy latte with coconut milk and toasted coconut meat on top. That’s double shot espresso, by the way.
I definitely enjoyed the lunch specials as well as the cakes. I think it’s a value for money as the serving size is hefty. Make sure to drop by and try these dishes and desserts as well as the coffee.
