Japanese food is one of the cuisines that I’d never get tired of having. I just love how meticulous their food are and the way it’s being prepared. Also, the revelation in its flavors are just plain delicious. May it be traditional or modern, it has been such a widespread here in Manila. The ambiance has Japanese posters reminiscent of their local characters. There’s Origami hanging on the ceiling as well adding more Japanese accent.
102 Izakaya is one that is inspired by many pubs in Japan. They serve Japanese bar chows that best paired with beer, in my opinion. Chef Edo-san was an executive chef in Balesin, Shangri-La Hotel and Manila Hotel etc. You can be sure that you’re in for a treat with what Chef has to offer. They prepare their food traditionally but in a modern way.
Kani Salad (Php195) – Look how refreshing that is. It has shredded cucumber, fresh mango, too.
Fresh Tofu & Seaweed Salad (Php210)
Tsukune (Php165) – These chicken balls were sweet yet savory. It was tender and easy to eat. I love all the flavors altogether.
Spicy Tori Karaage (Php195) – Yum these chicken which made me crave for beer.
Edo San Special (Php450) – Now I know why this one’s named as such. You are actually to eat it whole but, I cannot. 😀 This dish will make me come back here, definitely. It was cheesy and creamy yet savory and addicting.
Kani Tamago Aburi Sushi (Php165)
Salmon Aburi Sushi (Php195)
Kushikatsu (Php225 /Php25 to Php48 per stick)
Assorted Yakitori (Php35 to Php85 per stick)
Chicken Teppanyaki (Php230) – Now, that was juicy. Tender chicken bits in a sweet and savory sauce.
Buta Kakuni (Php310) – So tender and delightful. One of the dishes I enjoyed. The mashed potato was perfect match.
Beef Usuyaki (Php345) – That shiitake mushroom wrapped in thinly sliced beef. The smell is such revelation. Definitely one of our favorites.
This place is definitely worth checking out. They have the good service and has a generous portion of food, too. Now, since this is just 5 minute walk from the office, I am definitely going back to try more food.
