Book and Borders Cafe – nice cafe to spend some of your free time

We were trying to find a cozy place in McKinley and found this cafe in Tuscany.  It’s a perfect spot as they have couches, books, and wi-fi.  This is a great place for you to just spend your time while having a good cup of coffee. The place is homey with lots of interesting spots to have a photo taken.  Each corner is Instagramable.     Second floor consists of coffee tables where you can freely charge your gadgets and have some of your office work get done. I ordered Flat White and it was creamy and delicious.  Perfect for

Muang Thai – giving a classic Thai dishes some modern twist

Muang Thai has been around for many years now and actually was a furniture shop then. But now, they transformed into a restaurant business which focuses on serving authentic Thai food.  Now on its new management, they ensure that they serve quality food for those who love such cuisine. I was recently invited to try some of their dishes here in Malakas St. in Quezon City.  They have enough parking space in the area. A warm greeting on a neon sign. It’s visible that the place was renovated making it look more quaint.  Modern furniture with some wooden touches surely made

Han Pao Tea House – what a Chinese feast, indeed!

Han Pao Tea House has been around for over 2 decades and they continue to serve authentic Chinese food on your table.  I was able to visit them few months back and I was truly amaze by how they serve their food.  This place in Shaw actually opened in 1997.  It has some visible tears and wears but still neat and is actually pretty big.  They have rooms for functions and meetings so this is one restaurant to consider. Pretty Chinese artworks.  The food presentation was really something that would amaze you.  I know it is usual for a Chinese

PuNta

PuNta is such a nice place to hang out.  The location is very easy to find.  Located in Mandala Park, Shaw Blvd.  Live bands every night, no door charge, generous space for parking, great food and drinks and the price? Totally affordable. I like the vibe of this place.  There’s more room to dine as they have 4 options.  The Al Fresco, The Sunken Lounge, VIP and the dining area.  Walking on a red carpet once you enter, it felt like you’re kinda a celebrity or probably because there’s just the owner Paolo Bediones who welcomed us very warmly.  While

102 Izakaya – experience street food of Japan

Japanese food is one of the cuisines that I’d never get tired of having.  I just love how meticulous their food are and the way it’s being prepared.  Also, the revelation in its flavors are just plain delicious.  May it be traditional or modern, it has been such a widespread here in Manila.  The ambiance has Japanese posters reminiscent of their local characters.  There’s Origami hanging on the ceiling as well adding more Japanese accent. 102 Izakaya is one that is inspired by many pubs in Japan.  They serve Japanese bar chows that best paired with beer, in my opinion. I usually order the usual cup of coffee or frappe whenever I feel like one. I tried their Baby Chocolate Chip which tasted a bit sweet but it was not that bad. The Berry Berry Waffle was my favorite. Staff were attentive and able to explain each skewer and sushi that was put on our table but dishes took some time to be served. I find their sushi a bit big than the usual bite size but it’s a good thing for me. Here’s what we tried: Volcano Roll (295php)
