Ramen Nagi – my rainy day comfort food

I so love Ramen Nagi’s Butao Ramen. Thick and rich broth, firm noodles and tender meat. Butao is definitely one of my favorites already. The Pesto Ramen tasted good as well. You surely get your bang for the buck. Staff was attentive too and quick to do their refills on the sides. Highly recommended in the area.       Address: Ground Floor, Signa Designer Residences, Valero Corner Rufino Street, Salcedo Village, Makati City

PuNta is such a nice place to hang out.  The location is very easy to find.  Located in Mandala Park, Shaw Blvd.  Live bands every night, no door charge, generous space for parking, great food and drinks and the price? Totally affordable. I like the vibe of this place.  There’s more room to dine as they have 4 options.  The Al Fresco, The Sunken Lounge, VIP and the dining area.  Walking on a red carpet once you enter, it felt like you’re kinda a celebrity or probably because there’s just the owner Paolo Bediones who welcomed us very warmly.  While

Pork lovers, unite! This is the ultimate venue for us to satisfy all that greasy cravings. As you know, I love pork and anything you do with it and Empacho is my new favorite restaurant as they offer really well-cooked pork dishes to my liking. They not just offer Pork, they have Chicken, Fish, Seafood and more. We were able to try their impeccable dishes. Spicy Tamarind Wing – Flavorful pieces of Chicken wings. Do not be afraid of the small tidbits of chili flakes as this isn’t really spicy. Each wing coated with a tamarind sauce. Can I just

King Chef, Lucky Chinatown – All love for this Chinese Restaurant

It was my first time to try King Chef inside Lucky Chinatown and I was impressed by how big it is.  They have function rooms if you intend to make your dinner or lunch private. Staff were accommodating all throughout even though they’re a bit busy because of a lot of people who dined in.  When it comes to food, I highly recommend you try them if you haven’t.  It became of one my favorite Chinese Restaurant instantly. Zoo Coffee – Korean coffee, waffle and Bingsu

This is just few blocks away from the office. Been here a few times already as I can’t get enough of their waffles. The ambiance is great, with all that stuffed toy animals in each corner.  Friendly staff will welcome you when you stepped in. I usually order the usual cup of coffee or frappe whenever I feel like one. I tried their Baby Chocolate Chip which tasted a bit sweet but it was not that bad. The Berry Berry Waffle was my favorite. The serving was huge and I think this is good for 2-3 persons. Yum with the gelato

Watami offers new sushi flavors and skewers for you Japanese food lovers. This is my first time to visit this branch in Mall of Asia and I was impressed by their decor. Room was well lit, you might want to close the blinds if seated near the window during daylight though. Staff were attentive and able to explain each skewer and sushi that was put on our table but dishes took some time to be served. I find their sushi a bit big than the usual bite size but it’s a good thing for me. Here’s what we tried: Volcano Roll (295php)

Churchill – classy bar in Estancia Mall

Sophisticated and classy, that’s how I would describe Churchill. With the comfy couches and nice bar set-up, it is indeed a great place to relax. This place might look intimidating but they offer reasonable prices with their cocktails and bar chows. There’ a lot of rare alcohol available here. If you wanted more information of what to get, Chef John Kingston will be more than willing to tell you what and why you should get it. There’s premium alcohol here that’s no longer available in the market and that stopped production. So alcohol enthusiasts can rejoice! We got to try some

Polilya – one of my favorite bars in Poblacion

Here’s one of my favorite bars in Poblacion, Makati. They chose the name ‘Polilya’ as the owner wanted it to be in connection with the beer they launched called Engkanto.  They also wanted a name that is very pinoy too. The facade looks really inviting with the neon lights revealing the name. As you walk in, you can feel a homey vibe already with cozy sofas, warm lights and even the music was just pure relaxing. The vibe is perfect for after office hours.  As what the owner Ian Paradies said, he wanted it to be as comfortable as your neighbors’

Cafe Eight located in Crimson Hotel in Alabang now offers Kapampangan food with the help of Chef Leo Mari from Cafe Mequeni back in Pampanga.  Talking about legit Kapampangan food, right? They’re known to offer the most delicious food here in the Philippines. Thanks to Crimson Hotel as they brought them near and there’s no need to travel to Pampanga just to have a taste of their food. Cafe Adriatico – a total gem in Malate

Café Adriatico is a legend when it comes to great food and superb dining experience. They stood the test of time being around since 1979 and they continue to bring delight to their customers. They started the business as an antique shop that transpired to a café. They also pioneered the café society in Manila which later on expanded to bistros and bars founded by Larry J. Cruz. The atmosphere in Café Adriatico is still charming up to date. Though the second floor caught fire which damaged the original paintings and antiques, it still has that rustic and vintage vibe.

Make that 2 days and 1 night.  I strongly suggest to book your ticket at Partas ahead of time. Do not be like us. They’re also close to our local cuisine so there would not be much of an adjustment with our taste buds. Taperia Poblacion provides dishes that will satisfy your Spanish-Filipino palate. Not only that it’s authentic in flavors but it’s also affordable. Though, it’s a bit hot in Manila, I still find the fireplace amusing.  It added a rustic, country vibe accent to the place.  Don’t worry they won’t light it up. We were served with the following: I liked that the Panini Sandwich has loads of vegetables and mayonnaise.
