Kyoto Chaya – a taste of undiscovered Japan

Kyoto Chaya or Teahouse in Japan offers healthy meals that is unfamiliar to our palate.   They  wanted to share the taste of undiscovered Japan and serve food not known in the Philippines.  Kyoto is a place in Japan that has rich cultures and is known for Green Tea.

I love that this restaurant practices ClayGo.  Just like in Japan, they wanted people here to follow the same rules and is their ultimate motto.  I am pretty sure that we can do this as well. Just need a little practice.

Its decor is simply, chic yet classy.   The interior is well lit and has different colors of wall papers that is very Japanese.

For the drinks, I tried the Matcha Banana and it was refreshingly good.  You can really taste the strong Matcha flavor yet the  Banana is evident.

They have real Matcha and Houjicha dried tea leaves for drinks, directly from their farm in Kyoto.  Interesting, right?

We were able to try some of the dishes and I’m sure that  you will surely love it as  much as I did.

Sweet Potato Cheese Korokke( Php190) – It was a bit sweet and savory at the same time.  Love that the cheese that melts and the bacon inside it, too.  Crispy and delicious.

Shirataki Pasta is an alternative way to have your pasta in fiber, not in the usual carbs.  So, if you’re into Keto diet, this is perfect for you.  Among the three flavored, I enjoyed the Mentaiko Cream the most as it was creamy yet the flavor of fresh crab is strong.

They also have DIY dessert where you use the a wooden machine to push the jelly and make it look like noodles. Topped it with  fruits, mochi, soybean powder and kuromitsu.  Add Brown sugar syrup for a sweet ending.
